    Information and counseling help youth and direct them in finding good quality and useful information, which are the basis for their future decision making. Young peer informants-counselors, who represent the population of their peers by which the latter can identify themselves and whom they believe, play an important role in this activity. Peer information and counseling represent an important form of work with youth, which brings benefits to everyone involved: to users, young performers and the organization. In the theoretical introduction, the peer help is defined and the adolescence, information and counseling for youth and youth participation are presented in order to understand the concept of peer help in information and counseling for youth. The empirical part focuses on the contribution of the peer informant-counselor’s work to his life. Through the analysis of interviews with peer informants-counselors from three different organizations, their work, work motivation, occupational skills covered and the use of the latter in everyday life is presented. It is established that work and participation of youth in peer information and counselling programs help to expand their knowledge and develop certain competencies, and it also contributes to their personal development and proliferation of social networks. The feelings of effectiveness and efficiency in the work of an informant-counselor contribute to a greater self-confidence of an individual and to the positive self-image.
