Abstract
Today's world is changing rapidly and education is too. Nowadays, it is important for students to be mentally active during lessions. That allows them to come to new insights, where teachers play an important role by encouraging them to think and direct them not to stray away from the work. In my thesis I define the constructivist, cognitive and behavioral way of teaching. I focus mainly on the constructivist and compare it with the traditional way. Because cognitive conflict and scaffolding are vital parts of the constructivist way of teaching, I elaborate on them. I also shed light on the role of teacher and student in constructivist style. I also analyze the physics curriculum, focusing primarily on the extent to which a constructivist way of teaching can be implemented. I designed the preparation of the learning process for a cognitively constructivist way of teaching.
