The purpose of this bachelor’s thesis is to analyze the extent of musculoskeletal disorders among preschool teachers, to find out, which parts of the body are most affected and to study the risk factors, which can cause the musculoskeletal disorders. The research has been conducted on 155 preschool teachers from different kindergartens from Central Slovenian region, who have filled the questionnaire. First part of the questionnaire consisted of demographic variables, second part contained questions on satisfaction and the perception of stress on the workplace and physical activities of preschool teachers. In the third part of the questionnaire respondents had to evaluate their personal sensation of pain in muscles and joints. Data has been analyzed with the statistical program SPSS. We have found out, that most of preschool teachers sense pain in muscles and in joints, most common and most intense in the lower part of the back. We came to conclusion, that those preschool teachers, who valuate their work as more stressful, have more problems with pain in muscles and in joints. On the basis of data collected we haven’t found the connection between physical activity and frequency and intensity of pain. Also, we haven’t found any difference between the frequency and intensity of the pain among preschool teachers who work in first or in second age group. As most problematic activities where preschool teachers experience pain, the bending over, lifting of children, sitting on child chairs and crouching have been pointed out.
