Empirical part of the thesis tackles the question whether childcare workers are acquainted with such activities, whether they include them in their programmes and how they integrate them in the schemata and how children react to them. The research showed that childcare workers are acquainted with the activities and that incorporation of the activities is either planned or unplanned. Folk movement and merry-making activities are simple, interesting, fun and children love to participate in them.
