Abstract
This is intended for pre-service teachers of design and technology classes in primary school. We wish to encourage teachers to motivate students towards choosing technical classes as their electives. Technical elective classes are described where “material processing – artificial materials” and its significance for students is given more in detail. This is followed by presentation of techniques for students encouraging to develop an interest in technology classes. Activity days are used as the most appropriate way to encourage student interest in technological topics. Their work motivation can be further gained by using inductive teaching methods that are described. In the last thesis part a proposal of activity day to promote working with plasic is shown where composite matter is used for building a frisbee as a product using a project based work.
