The thesis entitled "Primary School Pupils Awareness of the Significance of Additives in Food" transparent deals additives, which are in accordance with Slovenian legislation allowed and can therefore be added to food. Presents the major groups of food additives and representatives with their codes (E101, E120, E332, etc…). They are listed in the tables. In addition to ranking the associated labels, additives are also classified according to the effect on the human body. The classification was illustrated by the red, yellow and green color. Marked in red are the most harmful additives. Frequent use of yellow marked additives are not recommended and green marked additives have no effect on our body. From each table we chose three most commonly used additives and have described in more details. In the context of the thesis, we performed a small pilot research on selected primary school in Slovenia, involved 84 primary school pupils. To this end, we designed a questionnaire, which we wanted to examine the awareness of primary school pupils from the 5th to 9th grade about the importance of additives present in food products, which affect their health and well-being. Based on an analysis of responses from a selected sample of primary school, we found that the students themselves are unfamiliar with additives (marking and naming the food). They are aware of their harmfulness. They are not decided to buy the products, if they knew the effects of additives on health and well-being.
