Download (8Mb)

The diploma paper discusses the morphological characteristics of the psychedelic art, namely the analysis of the visual characteristics of patterns and color formations, changes which psychedelics cause in the visual perception and consequently also in creativity. The topic is discussed from two perspectives: theoretical and pedagogical. Firstly, the diploma paper defines psychedelics and its influence on the creative process. Secondly, as we are discussing very potent and potentially dangerous substances, it provides myths, facts as well as possible health issues (mental as well as physical). In addition, it also describes the mechanism of these substances on our body and consciousness. The theoretical-empirical part focuses on the visual perception and the art works, inspired by the psychedelic experience. It is appropriate to inform, that the intention of this paper is not to advertise or to steer towards the use of such substances, but rather to discuss and analyze the morphological characteristics of the visual perception and art, inspired by the use of psychedelics. Analysis of the three interviews with people, who deal with the use of drugs (especially psychedelics) and its users, namely provides important empirical findings. The interviewers say that psychedelics rarely lead to an addiction and can have a profound and positive influence on an individual and on entire mankind. In their view, the field of psychedelic research is going through a renaissance and the revision of the existing research with improved methodology and larger samples.
