The aim of my thesis was to develop simple, qualitative tests for research and identification of acids in teaching chemistry in elementary school. According to the literature overview, I tried to establish the most suitable method to be used for experimentation in elementary schools in determining and identifying the acids. The method had to be time effective in order to be done within the number of hours specified in the curriculum for primary schools. And, finally, the experiments had to be based on the level of understanding of primary school. As part of the experimental work, I conducted an experiment in qualitative analytical chemistry. First, I determined the acids and bases using indicators, and then I tried to prove each acid. There were five inorganic acids included in the research. Acid anions were proved as precipitates or gases in ionic reactions. Using specific reagents, I got different colored precipitate or gas, which serves as evidence for a particular anion.
