One of the most important skills, which a person with visual impairment can attain, is the option of travel with relative dependence. Because of its importance it is vital that we consider every element of the orientation and mobility program. That is why it is not enough that we only look at the technical aspects of the use of the white cane, but also what a specialist knows, what happens to the feelings and sensations before the person decides whether or not he should pursue the orientation ad mobility program. The instructor also has to attend the psychosocial factors, because the strategies that he is going to use, are dependent of them. The psychological factors represent a wide specter of the persons feelings, his adjusting process and personality traits, as for the social factors, they represent a range of social interactions with community and family of the person.
