    Abstract

Because of the fact that families are being transformed by the flow of social changes, I was researching in my paper, how the definition of the family has changed, how different professions define family, which new typs of family emerged in postmodern society and what is the society's attitude towards them. In theoretical part I represented different family defintions typologies and tried to answer the question whether family nowadays really is in crisis and what kind of changes it has undertaken in postmodern. Because same-sex families are currently stigmatized the most, this topic is presented in special chapter. Up until now this position was owned by sigle-parent families and divorced families, therfore special chapters are devoted to them too. In empirical part I performed interviews with two parents. I checked what their attitude towards new typs of the families is. Based on the results I conclude that same sex families are still a taboo in our society while the attitude towards single and divorced families is changing and they are becoming more acceptable.
