Abstract
The family is the core structure, especially in the primary socialization. It ensures that the child grows in socially acceptable human being. In some cases, the family home environment is not suitable for the healthy development of children. The center for social work decides to remove the child from the family and gives him up in foster family. In the theoretical part of the thesis the role of the family for each individual is presented and the fundamental reasons for the alienation of it from family and accommodation in foster care. You learn about a concept of foster care and the conditions which must be sufficient to carry out a profession as a foster parent. There are presented the preparations for the adoption of a child in a foster family and the tasks to be fulfilled by a foster family. Here the theory is intertwined with the addition of the actual status in one of the foster families firsthand. Emphasis is given to weave relationships between parent family and foster family. The facilitator between those two families is the center for social work. The task also touches the reasons for the termination of foster care and possible return to their biological families. The empirical work reveals two narrative biographies. First is the biography of a mother who has four children in foster care, and the second one is the biography of the eldest child of this mother. Added are two more unstandardized interviews. The first was carried out with the foster mother of these children, the other with a social worker, who works with those children and the biological mother. Since more than half of foster care cases turns into a long-term measure, even though it is a temporary solution, this example demonstrates that even as a long-term foster care can measure from the perspective of a child, who is the primary user of this service, as very positive.
