Abstract
The thesis studies the differences between Catholic and public schools residence halls for secondary school students regarding upbringing processes and its effects. Apart from boarding and care, residence halls for secondary school students also offer professional upbringing for students in teenage years, seen by many as “the tumultuous period of searching”. The quality of the upbringing processes gives meaning to these boarding facilities or to the work of the pedagogues working there.
