    Abstract

In the following diploma the role of a sports training and a sports recreation for the perception of adolescents’ self-efficacy is presented. In the theoretical part the self-efficacy theory and its placement into adolescence are described as well as all three kinds of sports workout (sports training, sports recreation and sports education), connection between sport and adolescence and sport’s influence on the self-efficacy. In the empirical part the role of the sports training and recreation for the perception of adolescents' self-efficacy is examined by a quantitative research. There are 147 students of the 3rd and 4th Class from three different secondary schools included into the research. Regarding their participation in the sports training, recreation and/or sports education the students are classified into a group of sportsmen, recreation enthusiasts or non-sportsmen. In terms of the general and the academic self-efficacy as well as the general educational attainment statistically significant differences between all three groups can be noticed. On the other side, there are no statistically significant differences in perception of the social self-efficacy and in the use of cognitive strategies. Furthermore, in terms of the gender statistically significant differences in perception of students’ general self-efficacy appear, but there are no statistically significant differences in perception of the social and the academic self-efficacy.
