Abstract
The dissertation is about geometry, in particular about the area of the planar shapes and volume of geometric solids. The main part of this dissertation is focusing on the Italian mathematician Bonaventura Cavalieri and its principle in the plane and space. Cavalieri's principle can be useful in both the primary and secondary school when calculating the area of some planar shape and the volume of pyramids and geometric oblique solid.
